The S.C. Yamamoto Hardscape Management Division was developed to assist our customers in building high quality, low-maintenance grounds. Our facilities maintenance staff ensures that our client grounds reduce hazardous pollutants and waste that contaminate the environment. The benefits of our power sweeping division are the removal of paper, leaves, and other visible debris that collect in the gutters. Debris that is not removed properly block storm water facilities, causing localized flooding during heavy rains and storms. An equally important, but less visible benefit is the removal of metal particles and other hazardous waste products left by automobiles. Although they are virtually invisible, these particles can be extremely harmful to fish and other wildlife if they reach our creeks, rivers, beaches, and bays. Power sweeping is an effective method of removing both the large and microscopic pollutants that collect in parking areas and City streets. Sweeping also serves as one of our Best Management Practices (BMP) to control and improve water quality. Our power sweeping units remove an average of 220,000lbs. of debris from parking areas and streets before they reach storm drains.
